James Clyburn is already saying that if Biden loses, it's due to voter suppression. Democrats are the most aggressive hateful victims I've ever seen. Always the victim.

Fifty years ago, when I was a child, I got the flu. I remember to this day how bad I felt. That flu was a hundred times greater than any flu I had since. My current doctor insists that I get a flu shot each year. Men at work say I'm stupid and that it's a conspiracy. I believe you build up an immunity.
I believe that the over all cost of Covid should be considered. Who is qualified to set the priorities as we have seen politics enter the arena I don't know.
Drug abuse overdoses, divorces, murders, alcoholism, depression, etc need to be considered as the ramifications of a full shut down. European countries have done the complete shut down, and the Covid cases are returning. What I interpret locally in the USA populous are saying that life should go back to 75 to 80% normal. Take the safeguards of social distancing, wearing a mask, wash your hands, don't touch your face, etc.
I'm not sold on what a mask can do. However, What I will commit to is that any time you wear any personal protective equipment (PPP) your awareness is heightened as to danger existing. So, overall, I think wearing a mask and having to remember to wear a mask is good.

Polls Vs. Crowds
by minimus inwhen i see polls suggesting trump has a 95% chance to lose the presidency, according to drudge report, which is now totally liberal, and i see the huge crowds of trump supporters as opposed to the 20 people showing up for biden rallies, i have to wonder what i should believe.
do i believe my lying eyes or am i totally messed up?.

Today, both Biden and Trump are in Florida. Two hundred one cars at Bidens rally sitting in their air-conditioned cars honking. Trumps rally 10k to 15,000 people outside in the heat and humidity. First Lady Melania spoke interrupted by applause after every sentence. (I like her accent.)
Biden had so much energy I suspect he was made to snort cocaine before the rally.
So far, 80 million have voted surpassing the 67 million in 2016. Jehovah's blessing is evident with the growth.

The Myth of being "Spirit Appointed"
by BluesBrother inback in the first century we read that the apostles would "lay their hands" on someone and the holy spirit would be imparted to that one.
appointments of older men were made in this way - at that time.
in modern times the wts has claimed that their own elders ,min.

As many have pointed out The qualifications of being a "spiritual man" in JW legaleas means how how high they can jump based on works supporting the publishing company WTB&TS.
The scriptures point out that being a spiritual person is all in the mind, or the point of view. The fruits of the spirit, love, joy, peace etc are the qualities displayed by a spiritual man. WT has perverted this higher mind and thinking level to mean regular meeting attendance, field service hours, commenting at the WT word for word, and complete submission to the indoctrination by the WT.

Year's ago, WT waffles on the being appointed by spirit meant that if everything turns out in his life ok, then the individual was finally appointed by spirit. If he turned out to be wicked, he was never spirit appointed.
Jesus prayed over the appointment of the twelve and still had Judas betray him. Oh, but that was prophesized.

Is it because of Pride or Loyalty?
by joey jojo inin a recent effort to entice me back to meetings, an elder friend gave me the example of his dad.. he said that his pioneer/elder/ex-missionary dad went through the anticipation and disappointment of 1975 and yet, he kept going faithfully for decades afterwards.
the obvious point was that, if his dad can deal with disappointment, then, surely a nobody like me could do the same in regards to the scrapping of the 1914 generation doctrine, and all the other changes.
his 'encouragement' was to tell me that it was only me that felt like this, everyone else is fine and have no problems with the changes.

I agree with the sunk cost. I've heard from older witnesses that said they had too much invested to go to something else and they just keep plodding on faithfully until death.
Also, I believe it takes humility to realize you have been fooled. I remember when I woke up I was angry that my grand parents, my parents, my brothers and sisters, and myself had been fooled. How could we be so stupid? We were the cream of the congregation, the mature Christians, ones looked up to for having the answers.

What`s wrong With American Politics ?
by smiddy3 inwhat`s wrong with american politics ?.
96% of american people who got off there arse to vote, chose hillary clinton to be president of the united states of america over donald trump.. and the electoral college overode the will of the majority of the people who bothered to vote , and gave the office of president to donald trump who was the 2nd choice, an also ran , of the will of the people.. it`s a furphy to say that some larger blue/red states can dictate to smaller red/blue states or vice versa to rig the elections ,simply because people can, and do change there preferences in any one state whether it be traditionally red or blue.. both democrats and republicans are both guilty and responsible for the gerrymander that is the electoral college.. there i`ve said it ,.
nobody else seems to be able to say it how it is ,.

"Because the system encourages coalition-building and national campaigning. In order to win, a candidate must have the support of many different types of voters, from various parts of the country.
Winning only the South or the Midwest is not good enough. You cannot win 270 electoral votes if only one part of the country is supporting you.
But if winning were only about getting the most votes, a candidate might concentrate all of his efforts in the biggest cities or the biggest states. Why would that candidate care about what people in West Virginia or Iowa or Montana think?"
